Rethymno Days in May

Μusic, theater, exhibitions and art in May in the town of Rethimno.

The "Days of Rethymno" is a cycle of cultural events and artistic creation, focusing on the city's historic center and in order to highlight the historical figure and the cultural tradition of the city using his artistic potential.

The festival is organized by the Association of Residents of Old Town and other agencies and is held annually in May (10 - 28 May 2017), Rethymnon and hosts artists from all over Greece. For a second consecutive year the Association of Residents of Old Town Rethymnon will be organising its cultural festival 'Rethymnon Days'.

Paul Adkin @ Triopetra

Author, playwright and musician Paul David Adkin plays his «tzoura» at Three Rock Apartment an afternoon of July 2016.

Eyelands short story contest is the one and only international short story contest based in Greece.
Paul Adkin was the first winner of the contest in 2012 but he loves Crete and likes the place and spent some days as an honorary guest also in 2014 and in 2016. His novel «When Sirens call» will be released in Greece this year from Strange Days Books.

Three Rock - Season 2016!

Three-Rock Apartment is a very special guest house just two hundred meters from the -perhaps-  most beautiful beach of Crete. You get everything you want to feel like home plus this extraordinary Triopetra (three rock) beach.

  

BE OUR GUEST …

According to several guidebooks and websites, Triopetra is one of the most beautiful beaches in Crete -and Greece.

There are people (from Greece and abroad) who visit the beach steadily every year.  Still It remains a kind of unexplored paradise.

Easy acess from Rethymno. Just follow the road to Spili and after passing through village Akoumia just follow the road to the beach. The studio is in your left hand very close to the Triopetra beach.

Guests are however able to enjoy a beach that is never crowded, even in the heart of summer. Besides the length of Great Triopetra (so named to distinguish it from the little beach behind the Three rocks) from one end to the other is about two kilometers!

THREE ROCK STUDIO

Τhree-Rock is a unique studio with a design that combines the touch of the '60s to the current look and you can find also all the necessary amenities of a modern tourist accommodation. Designed to accommodate two to four people the studio studio is one very large furnished room of 70 sq.m., (with a separated bathroom) with a lot of space which lets you cooking, dining, relax all day if you want and can simply and easily be tailored to your taste.

 There is a double bed and also two more traditional sofa beds made of stone. Kitchen facilities are located in the central room, and the bathroom is in its own smaller room. There are windows on all sides. There is a refrigerator, stove with oven, washing machine, toaster, coffee maker. The kitchen is fully equipped with plates, glasses etc.

The water is drinkable.

There is a table of six people and chairs inside the studio and another one on the back terrace. The windows are double glazed and two of them have a screen. For heating there is a portable heater and stove and of course there is a fan. There is a cot available for babies. There is also a TV, DVD player, CD player and library with Greek and foreign books.

The studio has a large terrace (about 25 square m.) in front, facing the sea, the view and a back terrace to the eastern part with the view of the hills.

The distance from the beach is just 250-300 meters.

Akoumia is the nearest village, within 12 km. That's why the beach is also called Akoumiani Gialia. (gia-lia is the word for beach in the Crete idiom)

On the coast you can find throughout the season, coffee bars and taverns.

Mind that Triopetra beach is at the very centre of South Crete and that means, (provided you rent a car) easily acess to places like Spili, Preveli, Plakias, Amari plateau (westward) & Agia Galini, Matala, Phestos (eastward)

The area is very peaceful especially in May, June, early July and September. Triopetra is never crowded anyway. Cant be for a beach that is two kilometres long!

People say that the sunset here is something extraordinary. But the truth is that every single thing here in this beach is extraordinary.

This is the kind of living we like and this is our studio. It is a studio for travellers and also lovers of simple life and of course for the lovers of this magnificent beach... Triopetra (aka Three Rock).

APARTMENT

Three-Rock Αpartment is a two bedroom apartment on the first floor of  our house close to the beach Triopetra, just above Three Rock Studio. It is an apartment of about 60 square meters in total, with two rooms, kitchen and bathroom with shower, two terraces, one in front, with spectacular sea view and another at the back of the house looking at the hills. The decoration of the apartment is simple, in the 70s style with all the equipment that you really need to feel at home. It is ideal for a couple with a kid and also for a company up to three (or even four) people and is ideal for families with one or two children.

The two bedrooms, one with double bed and another with semi-double bed, are fully equipped with linen, towels and everything you may need. The kitchen is also fully equipped with plates, glasses etc. There is fridge, oven and also a traditional stove for wintertime. The water is drinkable. The bathroom has a shower and also a washing machine. The studio has a terrace in front, facing the sea, and a back terrace to the eastern part with the view of the hills. Of course there are storage spaces, closet for guests and all necessary linens for your stay there. As our guest you can park your car just outside the house. There is also a TV, Dvd player, Cd player and library with Greek and foreign books. And of course there is a cot available for babies.

5th of November today and still the water is so warm....

This is a photo from the sea. It's a strange photo taken from my mobile and as I was in the water I couldn't see what I was taking. But is was so nice... swimming in November I mean. And mind that I'm not the bravest of swimmers!!
Anyway, summer-autumn period closes in a few days, but we 'll be open all year long...
